The FT recently published an article headed "Legacy systems are problems for boards not geeks"
which made the often forgotten point that the technology to integrate legacy systems into more modern environments has existed for a long time. The problem is entirely a business problem and refusing to provide a budget for the modernisation work is extremely short sighted.
